Harassing Phone Calls
Harassing phone calls are classified as the following: obscene, bomb threats, threats to life, kidnapping and threats of bodily harm.
Bright House Networks customers may request a "Trap and Trace" (a copy of their incoming call records) if the situation is urgent or life-threatening. A request by a court (subpoena) for call records is enough justification for a Trap and Trace.
Note: Annoying and unwanted calls such and telemarketing, debt collection, and computer-dialed calls do not warrant a Trap and Trace.
A Trap and Trace may also be used for legal purposes (ie: court cases, child custody, etc).
Customers may initiate a Trap and Trace by filling out the following forms and submitting them with a subpoena:

Trap and Trace forms that are submitted without an accompanying subpoena will be rejected.
Please note that going through the trap and trace process will not prevent unwanted phone calls. Additionally, Bright House Networks cannot block or prevent specific telephone numbers from calling you. If you are looking to prevent unwanted phone calls, please contact your local office for information about a telephone number change (a number change fee may apply).
